I've written a number of manuscripts, ranging in length from flash fiction to novels, and the scariest part of the process is sitting down to a white page.

Hmmm...I am REALLY empathizing with the letter writer and I guess I wish we could find out more about this weird amnesia or fog or something that sets in when we sit down to write.

I've been writing off and on for years, I've read hundreds of novels and even worked in an editorial position at a publishing house and yet...I still don't feel like I can understand basic things about plotting, character, rewriting, etc. Either I am exceptionally dull witted, or its fear or...something else.

So...I am with you, letter writer, except not even published! And longing for answers...or guidance.
