The New York Times reports on something authors have been doing for... well I know that some authors... ahem.. have been doing some of this for at least as decade... but it seems to be catching on. what happens if you shopdrop your book and it is not in the Barnes&Noble system and someone tries to buy it? What does the clerk do? Throw the book away or try to put it in the system since it does have an ISBN number and is available for purchase through them but just not in their system at the time?
