Barack Obama, 47, the son of a black Kenyan father and a
white mother from Kansas will take his oath today, January 20, 2009, as the 44th president and the first
African American president of the United States. Born in Hawaii, Obama graduated from Columbia University
and then Harvard Law school, where he was the first African-American president
of the Harvard law Review. Obama will place his hand on a
Bible used by Abraham Lincoln
at his first inauguration in 1861.
Such an emotional day, full of pride and joy and expectation - all evident on the faces in the crowd -- and I am sure, so many faces watching from home.
I've not read his book - I am going to do so, though.

This book is terrific. Although I would recommend the audio version because the president's voice is lyrical.
